About United VA

United VA is a virtual airline created for flight simulation enthusiasts. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by United Airlines, Inc. Our airline is inspired by United Airlines' network and livery for simulation purposes only.

We operate exclusively on the IVAO (International Virtual Aviation Organisation) network and track all flights through the NewSky ACARS system. Our callsign is UEA.

Our community is primarily Spanish-speaking with strong roots in Mexico and Latin America, though we welcome pilots from all over the world.

Authorized Fleet

The United VA fleet is divided into three categories. Access to each category depends on your accumulated flight hours within United VA.

Fleet Authorization by Hours

Category Aircraft Min. Hours (UVA)
Regional ERJ-145, Embraer E170, Embraer E175, CRJ-550, CRJ-700 0 h (entry level)
Narrowbody B737-700 / 800 / 900, B737 MAX 8 / MAX 9, A319 / A320 / A321neo 10 h within United VA
Widebody B757-200 / 300, B767-300ER / 400ER, B777-200 / 300ER, B787-8 / 9 / 10 50 h within United VA

Hours accumulated before joining United VA do not count toward fleet authorization. Only flights logged through NewSky ACARS under callsign UEA are counted.

Livery

All flights must be operated using a United Airlines livery for the assigned aircraft. Use of non-United liveries during official UVA flights is not permitted.

Pilot Responsibilities

As a United VA pilot, you are expected to represent our airline with professionalism at all times. The following responsibilities apply to every member of our roster:

  • Log all official flights through NewSky ACARS with your United VA credentials.
  • Connect to the IVAO network for all official flights where possible.
  • Use the assigned United VA callsign format: UEA + flight number (e.g., UEA1001).
  • Operate only aircraft from your currently authorized fleet category.
  • Follow IVAO network rules, ATC instructions, and real-world procedures to the best of your ability.
  • Treat all community members, ATC controllers, and fellow pilots with respect at all times.
  • Report any technical issues or irregularities to staff via the Discord server.
  • Keep your pilot profile information up to date.

Flight Standards

While we do not enforce strict grade requirements, we encourage all pilots to:

  • File and follow realistic flight plans.
  • Use proper phraseology when communicating with ATC.
  • Complete pre-flight, flight, and post-flight procedures.
  • Avoid overspeed, extreme bank angles, or unrealistic maneuvers unless in designated training flights.
6

Activity Policy

To remain an active member of United VA's pilot roster, all pilots must meet the following minimum monthly requirements:

Monthly Minimum

  • 5 flights per month minimum
  • At least 3 flights from Mexico to a United hub
  • At least 2 domestic US flights

Tracking

  • All flights tracked via NewSky ACARS
  • Flights must be completed, not cancelled mid-flight
  • Stats reset on the 1st of each month

Pilots who consistently exceed the monthly minimum may be eligible for promotions, fleet upgrades, and special event priorities.

7

Inactivity Policy

We understand that real life takes priority. However, to maintain an active and healthy roster, the following inactivity policy applies:

Inactive Status

A pilot is marked Inactive after 40 days without a logged flight. The pilot retains their rank but cannot participate in events.

Suspended Status

After 60 days of inactivity, the pilot account is Suspended. Access to the roster and ACARS may be restricted.

Leave of Absence (LOA)

If you know you will be unavailable for an extended period, you can request a Leave of Absence by contacting staff via Discord before your inactivity period begins. LOA pilots are exempt from the inactivity policy for the agreed duration.

Reactivation

Pilots who become inactive or suspended can return to active status by completing 3 reactivation flights and notifying staff in the Discord server. All previous rank and hours are retained upon reactivation.

8

Final Provisions

The following general provisions apply to all United VA members:

  • United VA staff reserves the right to update this manual at any time. Changes will be communicated via Discord.
  • Pilots who violate the rules described in this manual may receive warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent removal from the roster depending on severity.
  • All disciplinary decisions rest with the CEO and senior staff.
  • United VA is a non-commercial community. No real money is charged or exchanged for membership.
  • United VA is not affiliated with United Airlines, Inc. in any capacity.
  • By remaining a member of United VA, you accept all terms outlined in this manual.

When in doubt, use good judgment and ask staff. We're here to help, not to penalize. Our goal is a fun, professional, and welcoming community for everyone.
